Many Nations are now wondering why China cannot attack the Philippines for they know that the Philippines has a weaker armed forces compare to that of China. It's very simple, China is afraid of US.
Well we all know that the United States of America and the Philippines is a long time ally, after the World War 2 where Manila was considered as one of the most destructed and devastated city in the world, the Philippines and the latter country signed a treaty called "the Mutual defense treaty" in August 30, 1951 in Washington, D.C. between the representatives from both countries. The treaty contained eight articles, where in it was stated that both nations should protect each other if either the Philippines or the United States were to be attacked by an external party. Though the United States has not directly saying that they will protect or support the Philippines if war against China erupts over the disputed Island of Spratlys they are oblige to do so.
Another reason is that, many nations support the stand of the Philippines against the chain of island disputed with the Bully China, there are Japan, South Korea, Australia, Italy, Russia, Thailand, Singapore and even those countries who has a claim on the said group of Island, the Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam and of course the United States. China knows that even they have strong military capability they could still be defeated if these Nations come together against them. So they're playing safe now in insisting their claims in the what they call "South China Sea" which was renamed by the Philippine Government as the West Philippine Sea.
China depend only on its military weapons, but in terms of military experience they are far away from that of the Philippine Military. Actually during the Korean War in the battle of yultong the Philippines defeated China with more than a thousand of army compared to less than half of thousand Filipino soldiers. China back off with many casualties but the Filipinos keep on fighting against the fleeing Chinese army. That war only proves that being out numbered is not a reason to retreat, to give up or even to lose hope.
Until now the Philippines stand strong against China, while China is continuously being aggressive and makes some move to provoke the Philippines to attack them so they could have a legal base, which they don't have on their claim on the disputed Island, to attack the very peace loving Philippines.
China is keep on saying that they are promoting peace between the nations involve in the dispute, but their words are just words of a traitor evil. They are not making any action to ease the tension, instead, they are provoking other nations and making the tensions even hotter. The world should continue observing China's move, for someday when we woke up they started occupying not just the West Philippine Sea but the bodies of water around the world.
The Philippines and the Filipino people are dedicated to protect its native land. They will even fight with a sword against the missiles of China for they know that those missiles will not work properly but their swords will, because those missiles are MADE IN CHINA, so it's substandard.
The world should watch, 'cause they will see the modern day version of "David and Goliath", and always remember this phrase China "The History Repeat itself".
